Three crazy months has turned into four! Right now working on a security project, and thanks to Gerry for providing some great pointers - Gerry is sure learning tons at Regis University as he completes his Masters in Information Assurance (and he is also having fun with his new job at Coalfire where he is focusing on IT Governance, Risk and Compliance.)

Three crazy months helping several start-ups and a couple of amazing established businesses. Ed mentioned that a cool project is helping an owner with his "exit strategy." Why? I'm glad you asked!
It is great to be part of developing strategy, and then how cool to make it happen with modern tactics utilizing technology and proven management techniques (today is the perfect time to start using "The One Minute Manager's" techniques, thus increasing productivity, job satisfaction, and personal prosperity!)
Along the way someone articulated Prof. Ed's value to their organization. "Ed gets a handle on our BAP* and can envision and deliver a solution."
Ed often described his two seemingly divergent personalities of "high-tech systems engineer" and "high-tech marketeer" as a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde phenomenon, where the key to success is taking advantage of the best aspects of each competency. However, many key employees hearing this message are Generation X, Generation Y (also known as Millennials), and don't get the connection with Robert Louis Stevenson's work and Ed's competencies.
So he said "how about this analogy - Ed's value is that he has mastered the best of the Bat Man, and Iron Man." The result is a perfect ally with command of American technology and business know-how to solve your BAP.

We are so busy working for our customers that it is taking much to long to update our web site, but it is rolling out along with some apps and integration with our new search engine, link quality and SEO automation tool, and CMS system for apps and this web site - whew! Jack is relentless in his marketing, so we need to keep the momentum of training our associates, automation, and implementing high-tech tools.

We are celebrating a special birthday today, our very own VP Jane - Happy Birthday - and here is a "silly" video for anyone interested in seeing Professor Ed embarrassing Jane. Regarding business, a trend is surfacing as we find many or our clients have not made any firm plans for an "Exit Strategy" - and by exit strategy we mean in the positive sense, what plans to you have to move on after building and profiting from your business? Will the business be "bought out" by the employees, or perhaps taken over by family, will you stay on in an advisory or board capacity, or do you want to sell your business?
Many entrepreneurs live for the "fight" or "competition" of launching a businesses. But one thing often forgotten is many decisions will have huge ramifications down the road. As it turns out, it's not enough to build a business valued at a fortune; you have to make sure you have an exit strategy, a way to get your "value" out. Professor Ed mentioned "I'm having a blast working with organizations doing their technology and SEO + marketing, then inevitably a conversation with the owner ensues and I end up helping to create an exit strategy leveraging the web and native mobile apps to get their 'global persona' and 'company value' maximized in the 'eye of the beholder' ... "

We have made some decisions on our site architecture and customized CMS system. Some of the key considerations were:
- SEO / SEM Integration
- Analytics Integration
- Strong Server Side Security
- Modern Object Oriented Design and Programming Architecture and Expandability
- Why not throw in all the "ilities" while we are at it!
- Robust is the Key item for all of this!

Note: The name Wise Apps is not new and "App," although it had a different meaning (you may have heard the term CAD APP or CAD PROG, or CAD/CAM APP in the 1980's) actually originated and is documented from Professor Ed's days of working with Cryptography before the Internet was named as such. Professor Ed was actually called a Wise App from time to time (LOL! pun intended), and it was not unusual for his group or Engineers and Scientists to be called a bunch of Wise Apps when working with NSA and MIT (also the famous Charles Stark Draper Labs) on National Security projects in the 1980's, 90's, and 2000's (Professor Ed started as a kid - no kidding, he loved chemicals, electrical apparatus, mechanics, flying private aircraft and acrobatics with his dad, all kinds of weapons including custom sniper arms from David Ecker of Charter Arms, and even tested for the Army at age 16).
