Picture = 1000 Words

Jack, our VP of Business Development, asked me the question:

"Who said A picture is worth a thousand words?" 

Well, as it turns out, this is attributed to several folks.

Perhaps most notable and at the heart of Jack's question is

the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte who stated

"Un bon croquis vaut mieux qu'un long discours" meaning ...

"A good sketch is better than a long speech"

You may be thinking "Ok, Professor Ed, why are you telling me this?"  I'm glad you asked!  At Wise Apps we have a host of products and services that we utilize and market to help our customers prevail in their business endeavors.  Our top "packages" are named using the key "picture word" "Pearl." The Pearl represents or symbolizes several things including wisdom and related noble ideas.

For example, considering pearls as valuable and analogous to wisdom certainly predates the Lord Jesus Christ's time on earth over two thousand years ago. I say this because of the famous comment containing the phrase "... do not throw your pearls before swine ..."  Several web sites mention how Chinese records from 2300 BC discuss pearls as prized possessions of royalty. Moreover, Hindu texts refer more than once to pearls, and in ancient Egypt, mother-of-pearl use dates as far back as 4000 BC. Interestingly the Koran mentions pearls as one of the most precious treasures in paradise.

Besides these spiritual and historical aspects, there is a deeply personal meaning too.  Again referring to a famous comment by the Lord Jesus Christ, the Kingdom of Heaven is compared to a business man, who upon discovering a fine pearl of great value, sold everything he had and bought it.  A good friend did just that - he attained a pearl of wisdom at great personal cost and passed it on to me.
